Bruce Munro Light Art Exhibit – Hermitage Museum through January 10
British artist Bruce Munro is noted for his site-specific installations that employ light to evoke emotional response, often in an outdoor context and on a monumental scale. His practice is a mediation of memory and of moments of shared human connection, and incorporate a fascination for components and an inventive urge for reuse. Bruce Munro: Light at Hermitage is the artist’s first mid-Atlantic exhibition, an immersive and inclusive experience, created specifically to transform and enhance the Hermitage’s gardens, the Sloane mansion and its art collection, and its expansive waterfront views. Visitors will experience seven outdoor and three indoor artworks including a permanent piece commissioned in the museum’s Loggia. The Hermitage will offer extended evening hours from October 12 to January 10 to present this unforgettable exhibition.
