Broadway Flipped – musical revue at WM Sadler Center April 28 2014
Monday night, April 28th at 7:00pm marks the debut of Broadway Flipped, Gary Green’s musical revue that features some of Broadway’s best loved show tunes, but sung by a performer of the “other gender”. Sometimes hilarious, sometimes heart-wrenchingly beautiful you’ll surely hear these wonderful tunes in a whole new light. A live band and cast of twelve will have your toes a tappin’ as the Commonwealth Auditorium of the Sadler Center (next to the football stadium) turns into the swingin’ Century Club. Put on your own finery and pull up a stage side table for a great evening benefitting the Virginia Shakespeare Festival. You’ll hear wonderful songs by Gershwin, Berlin, Sondheim, Kander & Ebb to name just a few but they surely won’t seem the same. Admission by donation – pay “What You Will” but come join the party –with desserts and beverages available for purchase at intermission. It’s going to be a swanky evening so shake out your best duds to enjoy this benefit concert for the Virginia Shakespeare Festival’s 2014 season. Doors open 6:40pm, general admission seating.
