Applicants Needed – Historic Triangle Bicycle Advisory Committee

The York County Board of Supervisors is seeking applications from county citizens interested in representing York County on the Historic Triangle Bicycle Advisory Committee (HTBAC) to fill future vacancies. This is a regional body formed in 1993 by the James City County Board of Supervisors, the Williamsburg City Council, and the York County Board of Supervisors. It is comprised of citizen appointees and staff from each of the three localities as well as the National Park Service, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and the College of William and Mary. The HTBAC is responsible for:

• Recommending bikeway projects for implementation in accordance with the adopted Regional Bikeways Plan,

• Recommending amendments to the plan, and

• Developing and implementing promotional, informational, and safety initiatives related to bicycling.

Length of term for appointees is three years. The HTBAC meets quarterly in January, April, July and October.

York County citizens interested in applying for future appointment to the HTBAC can obtain an application from the County Administrator’s Office at 224 Ballard Street in historic Yorktown or by calling 890-3320. Applications are available online at www.yorkcounty.gov (select “On-Line Services,” then “Board and Commissions,” and finally “Board Bank Application”).
