Life With Pigs Farm Animal Sanctuary Volunteers
Life With Pigs Farm Animal Sanctuary Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers at Life With Pigs Farm Animal Sanctuary in Williamsburg. We are a non-profit farm animal sanctuary that provides forever homes to farm animals in need and compassion-filled educational experiences to the public. We are home to rescued animals including cows, pigs, sheep, turkeys, chickens, geese, dogs, a rabbit, a parrot, and a porch toad!
We need volunteers for our monthly group volunteer days, which are held once a month and open to volunteers of all ages, though it is recommended at least 12 and up. All volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteers will help with barn clean outs, scrubbing water bowls, fixing fences, laying dirt/gravel, and any other ongoing projects. No experience is necessary and we have tasks for all physical abilities. Volunteer days are 2 1/2 hours long, with the last 1/2 hour for loving on the animals! Interested volunteers can signup here: https://lwpvolunteer.timetap.com/
We also need Animal Care Volunteers to come for approximately 1.5 hours once a week either in the morning or in the evening. Duties include feeding the animals, letting out or putting away the birds, filling or emptying water bowls, cleaning out the bird areas, and manure pickup in the high traffic areas. And of course, giving the animals lots of love. We have several openings during the week or on the weekend. Morning sessions can start between 7am – 8am, and evening sessions should start about 1 hour before sundown. This is a great opportunity for a small group or pair of people. Individual volunteers are also accepted, and can volunteer alone or opt to be paired with someone else. Interested volunteers should email: mallory@lifewithpigs.com.
We also accept volunteers who can provide professional services, from plumbing, electric work, building supplies, contractor work, fundraising, etc. Interested professionals can contact mallory@lifewithpigs.com
