AARP Williamsburg Tax-Aide providing FREE in-person tax assistance and preparation
Williamsburg AARP Tax-Aide Returns for 2025 Tax Season
Tax season is nearly here, and Williamsburg AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will once again be serving the community at two locations in the Greater Williamsburg area. The program provides free tax counseling, preparation, and filing service to taxpayers with low to moderate income, with special attention to those aged 60 and older.
AARP will be operating out of both library locations (Williamsburg Library on Scotland Street and the James City County Library on Croaker Road). For those wishing to make appointments, you will be able to use the online process in addition to a call-in option, Williamsburg Library (757) 354-1260 and JCC Library(757) 561-0545. Walk-ins are also welcome, as schedules allow.
You will not be required to prepare our pre-printed packets in advance, but you will fill out that information when you come in to have your tax return prepared. At that time, please bring in copies of the following:
- Photo ID and Social Security Card for all persons on the tax return
- Tax forms like W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, etc
- Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit
- Last year’s tax return if possible
- Others as needed for your return
If you have this information on your phone, please print it before coming in.
The last day for preparing returns is April 15, 2025.
Please refer to this web page and the Tax-Aide Facebook Page for further updates.
